Last Monday the 22nd of September was the first day of Fall.  On that day one would think that the hours night and day were exactly the same, but it isn’t so.  That didn’t happen for a couple of days after the Autumnal Equinox.  But last Monday when the sun came up it was exactly due East and when it set, it was exactly due West.  It’s also the time that you can supposedly balance an egg on it’s end.  Truth be known, you can balance an egg on its end ANY day of the year providing you have a steady enough hand!

If you were a Hawkeye fan last week, then this was a GREAT WEEK!!!!!!!  If you were a Cyclone Fan.. well, there’s always next year!  In the meantime, it’s beginning to feel more and more like fall.  The walnuts from my walnut tree are beginning to fall.. the squirrels are returning and as a result, my dog Willie is spending his days at the slider door ready to defend HIS TURF from rogue squirrels…. Atta boy Willie!
